The Olympic torch relay for the rescheduled Summer Games in Tokyo will start on March 25, 2021, keeping largely in line with the original timeline planned prior to the Olympic Games being pushed back by a year because of the pandemic.
The torch relay will start in Fukushima Prefecture, with a member of the Japanese women’s national soccer team that won the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup serving as the first runner.
